Girls Night Out

Last weekend Josh took the boys on our stake fathers and sons camp out.  That left the house full of just us girls so we decided to make a night of it.  We all jumped into our bathing suits and plunged into our back yard pool for an evening swim (Aubrey and Ellie are adorable in the pool together...actually, to me, they are adorable just about everywhere together).

With we hair and smiles we then loaded into the Suburban and headed out for dinner...nothing fancy because the girls were hoping for a spot with a play place.  We settled on Chick-fil-A (they have my favorite lemonade in the whole world!) and had a fun meal broken up by moments of sliding and climbing and other random fun.

Last, but not least, we decided to go on a shopping spree.  We drove over to the local DI (a thrift store) and looked for treasures.  Aubrey found a set of Nancy Drew books that she just had to have (I loved Nancy Drew when I was younger and DI books are only 50 cents so we couldn't go wrong).  She also found a cute dress that fit perfectly and was still in fabulous shape.

We didn't find a treasure for Ellie, but she was happy just pulling everything she could reach off its shelf or hanger and throwing it on the floor so everyone had a good time.

More than anything else, it was really wonderful to spend some one on one time with my girls.  I adore those two, very different, very individual females and I am grateful every day that God sent them to me.

(More about the boy's end of the deal tomorrow since the pictures are on Josh's phone and he is at soccer all day today).

  1. My girl Sheely LOVES Nancy Drew. It's been over three years now and she still isn't bored of them :) No wonder they've stood the test of time!
