I'm going there someday...

Since school is out for our crew of kidlets, it is time for our family to get going on our summer goal of visiting each of the 17 temples in Utah.  Should be fun!

We figured this weekend was the perfect time to start, so we packed up the crowd and off we went!

We started our adventures by heading north.

And our first stop was to the Logan, Utah Temple (our son, Logan, is particularly fond of this temple).  Our visit here was brief as someone (I won't name names) decided they need an immediate visit to the bathroom so we were compelled to hustle our way to the nearest gas station for a pit stop.

Not quite the plan, but that's how things go sometimes.

Still, the beauty of the temple, and the peace of the spirit there was well worth the drive.  We read about the history of this incredible building (learn more about the Logan Temple and any others here on LDS.org) and appreciated the past and wondered at the way simple saints could create something so amazing.

And since we were already in the neighborhood, we made a visit to the Brigham City Temple as well.  The grounds here are less extensive, but the temple is still lovely.  There is no denying this is a sacred house of worship.

We did have an interesting encounter with a Rasta friend who may have had ill intentions, but we came out unscathed and lived to enjoy the lovely structure at our feet.

All in all it was a fabulous start to our summer goal.  We hope to have many more beautiful  afternoons spent in the shadow of the House of Our God.
