AAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!
Why is it that on the weekends when I want to sleep in a little bit, all of the kids are up and out of bed before the sun has even thought about coming up but on weekdays when they need to get up for school, I have to drag them out of bed? The older kids have alarm clocks in their rooms, but they are worthless (at least the alarm feature is). The kids easily sleep right through the blaring alarm even though it wakes me up in my bedroom upstairs...they don't budge until I go down and get them up. These are the same children that can hear me open a package of cookies in the kitchen when they are in the back yard, or the basement or anywhere really. I guess that is just the way of children. I don't understand, but I love them anyway.

Memorial Weekend
We had a fun weekend as a family. We got to do a lot of things together and just enjoy the weather and each other. Josh taught the boys how to put up and take down our flag (we really do love our country and love to show our support of this great nation). We spent an afternoon at the park and had a picnic. We played water games in our back yard (I would never present my whale like form in the front yard where other people actually had to see me). We played games, explored creatures (caterpillars and snails mostly) and just had a lot of fun. Thank Heaven for three day weekends.

"C" is for Cookie...and Clean-up
My favorite treat in the whole world is probably chocolate chip cookie dough. I love the cookies too, but the dough is the BEST!!! So, today, the little boys and I decided to make cookies, which is always an adventure. Parker likes to do everything all by himself, especially crack the eggs. Gavin loves to pour things into the bowl and tastes every substance we add (flour, baking soda, salt...yum). Logan gets upset and yells "TOO, TOO" whenever it is someone else's turn and he feels left out (like "me too, me too"). Still, we have a great time, and the end product is worth the effort (the cookies, not the mess).

Parker's Pre-School Program
I guess we are blog-a-holics lately (does that mean I need a support group?). Still, Parker's pre-school presented their end of the year program last night and we couldn't help but show him off a little bit. He did a great job and it is always an amazing production. We LOVE his pre-school teachers and all that they do to help the kids. It was a really fun night for our whole family.

Out With the Old, In With the New
This Sunday I was released as the young womens president in our ward. I have served in that calling for exactly two years from the date I was called tho the date I was released, and was first counselor for just over a year before that. I have really grown to adore the girls and am grateful for the time I have been able to spend with them. It might be even harder, except the new YW president is Tristy Rosenlund, who is incredible (I have been blessed to have her in my presidency for the last two years) and she will do an amazing job. I love my girls and will miss them, but I know this is the right thing. Good luck Tristy, God bless you!!!

Kicking It With Bryce
Bryce's first soccer game was played this week (last weeks game was cancelled because of rain). He played goalie for the first half of the game and blocked two goals. He is a scrappy little player and does a great job. It is really fun to watch him.

Weird Noises at Night
At night, after the kids go to bed, sometimes I can hear really weird noises coming from the basement. Is the house haunted? Do we have a poltergeist? I'm just not sure. So I decided to explore and see if I could get the source on camera.
Ok, so it is really just Josh singing along with music from his laptop while he works on school work. He can sing, but sometimes because he turns the music up so loud that he can't really hear himself he ends up sounding...lets just say interesting. My husband makes me laugh, and he takes my teasing so well.

I Don't Know What to Say About This
Yesterday, in Sacrament meeting, Gavin was climbing all over me (the norm in our family...Mom aka jungle gym). He found my necklace and was turned toward me while playing with it. At one point he looked down and could sort of see down my shirt (is this horrible to post??) and saw a bit of pregnancy enhanced cleavage and said "Mom, is that your other bum?" I had a hard time focusing on the testimonies after that. Oh kids.
Bring on the Mondays
It's been one of those weekends where I am REALLY grateful it is finally Monday. Do you ever have those, or is it just me. Curse you, pregnancy hormones!!! Oh well. Life is...always interesting.
The kids are off track so they will all be at home for the next couple of weeks, that is nice (most of the time). It also means that if I can manage to get them to sleep in a little bit, I can sleep in too. Wouldn't that be nice. Funny, when they are on track, I often have to get them out of bed, but when they are off track they seem to wake up nice and early just fine on their own. Go figure.
Last Wednesday, Aubrey performed in her community ed class production of Cinderella. She was the wicked step mother, and she did a great job. Normally I would post some pictures or video from that, but unfortunately, I put the camera away a little more creatively than usual (alright, I stuck it in an obscure drawer so Logan couldn't play with it) and Josh couldn't find it to bring it over for her performance.
Friday, I took the kids to our stake road shows, while Josh worked on school stuff. We didn't get to see all of the shows because at 8:30 pm they were only about halfway through them, but the kids enjoyed the ones they saw. Our ward did a fabulous job with a "Who Poisoned the Bishop" mystery that was really funny...that was Bryce's favorite. Gavin was only interested in the ones with music he could dance to in the corner...he was on one that night, and Aubrey liked the rapping Amish guys. We had a great time.
Bryce was supposed to have his first soccer game on Saturday morning, but thanks to the pouring rain it was cancelled. That also meant the youth service project that morning was cancelled so I didn't have to feel guilty about not attending that after all. What a relief.
It's a good thing I have my family, they keep me sane (and also make me crazy sometimes) but life wouldn't be right without them.
