This...
is what happens when the locking mechanism on your washing machine breaks and everything (including TONS of water) leaks out onto the floor leaving a soggy, soaking mess.
Here is the culprit.
Both fingers of this should be the same length, but they aren't. |
Drat the little bugger.
Sigh. Oh well. Lop the soggy clothes into the dryer and hang the rugs on the fence to dry and all should be well. Thankfully I ordered the part on Amazon this morning and it (along with our new heating element for the broken oven) should be in here in just a few days.
Crossing my fingers for no more disasters for at least a couple of weeks.
(As a side note, I am very grateful to our apparently ailing appliances for holding on just long enough for Josh to start his new job so that we do have a few extra dollars to address these problems. It was kind of them to suffer through their troubles until we could manage.)

In the name of safety something else goes down. We live as in a time if it weren't for saving us from ourselves and the EPA many of these latest disasters would not have happened, [I realize this doesn't apply to the oven coil] Thank goodness I come from a time when we were expected to take care of ourselves and didn't have government intervention to keep us on the straight and narrow.
